A partir de un estudio de caso, se analizan causas internas y externas que afectan el rendimiento académico, tales como la falta de apoyo familiar, bajo nivel socioeconómico, ausentismo escolar, desmotivación, dificultades en el acceso a materiales educativos y escasa intervención pedagógica oportuna. Se considera además el impacto de las secuelas postpandemia en los procesos de lectura, escritura y razonamiento matemático. El trabajo destaca la importancia de que el docente en formación identifique estos factores para diseñar estrategias didácticas diferenciadas, centradas en las necesidades específicas de los estudiantes. Se concluye que una atención personalizada y empática, así como el trabajo colaborativo con las familias, son claves para prevenir y atender el rezago educativo desde una perspectiva inclusiva y comprometida.
